About

The LTMS Academic Team has a proud tradition of excellence in competition.  In the last ten years LTMS has placed #1 in statewide academic competition three times.  As part of statewide Governor’s Cup academic competition, our program includes the Quick Recall Team, Future Problem Solving Team, Composition and Written Assessments in Arts and Humanities, Language Arts, Math, Science and  Social Studies.  Our Sixth graders also have their own special competition, Sixth Grade Showcase the first weekend in December.  Quick Recall competition begins in October at the county level and progresses throughout the year to State Governor’s Cup competition in early March.  The Academic Team has a rigorous practice schedule running from August through May. Future Problem Solving, Composition and Written Assessment competition begins in January and culminates with State Governors Cup in March.  The Academic Team is a fun and educational part of the extra-curricular activities offered at LTMS.

How to join

LTMS has a long tradition of outstanding performance by our Academic Teams.  Academic Team activities include Quick Recall, Subject Area written assessments and Future Problem Solving.  You are strongly encouraged to participate in this fun and intellectually stimulating activity.  If you would like to be a part of the tradition, contact Mr. Patton in room 157 or email him .
